IT IS TIME

to let go of this blog and mesh everything into one. I need to stop ‘compartmentalising’ - so I have restricted my design blog to ‘work, thoughts, & lovely discoveries’ and am just getting on with it. Bye-bye, pretty girly blog.

"I ask you, what kind of society pushes people to buy sh*t they don’t need with money they don’t have to impress people they don’t care about?"
— Hana Mori, one of my Chelsea classmates, from a post on her blog (http://aliceinherhead.wordpress.com/)

enigmaevum asked: Hey, I was just wondering. How would you rate your Diana Mini camera? And, this might sound stupid, but how do you get your captured pictures?

Hmmm I’d say overrated if I’m being honest. I’m a sucker for joining the bandwagon, yes, but after failing miserably with a pinhole camera and being put off by the price of a vintage Polaroid cam when Polaroid film has now been discontinued from production, I thought it all a little ludicrous. It’s fun though, and straightforward and there are other types of Lomographic cameras to check out (what it comes down to is a crappyish lens and a plastic Japanese toy camera). The ‘dreamy’ effect comes out in pictures, and it’s always a surprise, so it doesn’t really take a genius to get cool looking pictures from it. I didn’t know exactly what you meant in the second question but I hope this answers it!

enigmaevum asked: Suggestions? Something psychedelic, yet elegant. Inspirations? Radiohead music videos or perhaps, The Naked and Famous album art. I don't know if that helps; I'm sure you'll come up with something better (sorry for being vague).

No, I like where you’re going with it! Thanks alot for the input :)

Hmm psychedelic wouldn’t be my thing, I like soothing and gentle paintings, mostly.

Chelsea Girl

I have moved into a beautiful little three levelled house in Chelsea, London. I now need to paint/buy a beautiful painting to mount above our lovely art deco style fireplace, to be the centerpiece. I have a little studio area with great lighting to paint and design in, otherwise it would be amazing to buy something from a Chelsea College of Art fine art graduate or a dusty charming one in an antique store - no idea where I would even begin.

Suggestions? Inspiration? Something sumptuous in oil paint…

A trip to the National Portrait Gallery is a must!

I dunno, some quick painting I did in Fine Art in early Chelsea days.
